I use my Gammill Statler longarm machine for quilting. It sits on a 12 foot table so I can accommodate quilts up to 120 inches. Binding is done on my domestic sewing machine.
I use Glide thread and Omni by Superior thread. High quality quilts deserve high quality thread.
Digital patterns are used for Edge to Edge quilting and can also be used for custom quilting. Patterns can be resized to fit your price category and desired density. You can browse a partial list (I’m always adding more) of digital patterns by clicking Statler Stitcher patterns. I can also free motion quilt (hand guided) in addition to doing computerized quilting. I can even just baste your quilt if you want to quilt it yourself.
Your quilt is in good hands when you leave it with me for quilting. I will keep it in a plastic bucket until I begin quilting it. When it is done, it will go back into the bucket until you pick it up or it is mailed back to you if you are not local.
Prices are listed in the drop down menus below. Quilting can become a pricey hobby but finishing your quilt with me doesn’t have to break the bank.
The following services are at no charge:

Pricing for quilting is based on the size of your quilt, the density of the design, and the amount of customization required. There is a minimum charge of $50.
Edge to Edge:
Low density (lots of space in the design) $.021 per square inch
Medium density $.035 per square inch
Heavy density $.05 per square inch
Edge to Edge Plus:
Specifically designed for those quilters who want edge to edge across the main portion of the quilt but a different border design along the edges. Simply add $.01 to the edge to edge price based on your desired density. For example, if you want low density edge to edge and different borders, that price would be $.031/ sq. in.
Custom quilting:
Maybe you want a particular design in certain blocks. You might have applique that you don’t want stitched through. Stitch in the ditch is custom.
Custom quilting starts at $.052 per square inch. Price is discussed at consultation.
See the example on this page for how pricing works.

Maybe you are a hand quilter but like me, you don’t enjoy basting your quilt sandwich. I can help. Basting stitches are spaced every 2-4 inches across the quilt in rows that are about 3 inches apart. Basting is $.018 per square inch. Please note, the minimum charge for a quilt is $50.

You may bring your own or buy from me. Either way, the batting must be 4 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides.
I carry Hobbs 80/20 natural color which is what I use on my own quilts. It is 96 inches wide. $11 per yard
For quilts with a lot of white or light fabric, I have Hobbs 80/20 bleached white batting. It is 108 inches wide. $12 per yard
I also have Pellon 100% cotton with scrim in natural color which is 90 inches wide. $9 per yard.
Prefer Quilter’s Dream batting? I have samples of every kind of their batting. I do not regularly stock this brand due to space limitations but it’s fantastic and I’d be happy to order it for you.
The advantage to buying batting from me, off the roll, is that you will have fewer folds from packaging which will allow me to start on your quilt quicker.

Squaring and trimming are the last two steps before binding. This is optional. $15 for squaring and trimming if I am not binding your quilt.
Please let me know if you want your scraps back.
I will not trim quilts backed with Minky.
-
I have two methods of labeling quilts.
Print directly onto white or cream fabric to hand sew the label onto the quilt. $20
Stitch a label directly onto the back of the quilt with my Statler. It will not show through the front. $20 for 1-2 lines of text. $30 for 3-4 lines of text.
-
Non-cotton backing such as Minky or fleece requires a considerable amount of effort to avoid tucks. Any backing that is not cotton will have a $15 charge.
If you would like to have more than one color thread in your quilt, there is a charge of $5 for each additional color.
Rush fee: $40 Life happens. Sometimes we don’t finish our projects soon enough and the gift event is looming. If I think I can meet your deadline, I will charge you the fee and accept the quilt. If I can’t meet your deadline, I’ll let you know right away so you can make other plans.
